The family of Bernard Arnault, chief executive of LVMH, the parent company of luxury brand Louis Vuitton, is now the richest in the world in terms of wealth, according to a new Forbes list.
Bernard Arnault’s family topped the Forbes list with a net worth of $185.8 billion.
Elon Musk became the richest person in the world in September 2021, beating Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Elon Musk’s net worth has plummeted due to the fall in Tesla shares and a $44 billion investment in Twitter. Now Musk is in second place with a net worth of $185.4 billion.
Tesla’s shares fell to their lowest level in two years. Tesla’s market capitalization has also halved since Musk’s announcement to buy Twitter. This has reduced Musk’s net worth by around $70 billion.
Besides Tesla, Musk also heads SpaceX and NeuraLink. Neuralink is a startup working to develop an ultra-high bandwidth brain-machine interface to connect the human brain to a computer.
Tesla is facing a lot of challenges after Corona. The company has suffered huge losses due to China’s strict restrictions. Along with America, China is also a big market for Tesla. Due to supply chain issues, the company has not been able to deliver its cars to the US on time and this has affected Tesla.
