In a shocking incident at South Park Mall in San Antonio on Thursday, July 27, a car theft led to a fatal confrontation, resulting in one person dead and two others injured. The peaceful atmosphere at South Park Mall was shattered when a car owner discovered his stolen vehicle in the parking lot. The situation escalated when he decided to confront the alleged thieves directly, leading to a tragic outcome.

San Antonio Police Department Chief, William McManus, reported that the stolen vehicle was occupied by a male driver and a female passenger. The owner, armed and determined, confronted the pair at gunpoint and promptly alerted the police about the theft. Within minutes, the situation took a deadly turn as the suspected car thief drew a firearm from his waistband and opened fire, prompting the vehicle owner to defend himself.

The intense exchange of gunfire resulted in the death of the suspected car thief. Additionally, the vehicle owner sustained injuries, as did the female passenger, who is believed to be connected to the alleged thief. Both injured individuals were rushed to a local hospital for medical attention. As of now, the woman is in critical condition, while the owner’s condition has been stabilized.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident, with a strong presence concentrated near the south side of the mall, close to the Fitness Connection area. As the investigation unfolds, the identity of the deceased person has not been disclosed.
