Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor’s much-anticipated action thriller film, ‘Bloody Daddy’, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, will skip the traditional theatrical release and will have a direct-to-OTT release.
The announcement was made by Jio Studios during a grand event in Mumbai where the makers unveiled the film’s teaser, featuring Shahid Kapoor in a killer avatar alongside Sanjay Kapoor and Ronit Roy.
Jyoti Deshpande, President – RIL Media and Content Business, shared her excitement about the film, stating, “We have taken a really big special film, with a very big actor, a very big director, spent lots and lots of money on it and we are going to do an OTT release.”
Shahid Kapoor, who has previously worked with Ali Abbas Zafar in the blockbuster film ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, expressed his excitement about the project, saying, “It was a lot of fun. I had a great time doing an action film, I really enjoyed working with Ali. He understands the genre very well.”
Despite facing several challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including action directors from different parts of the world and limited rehearsal time, Shahid’s dancing experience helped him pick up the action choreography quickly.
The film’s first look poster was recently shared by Shahid on his Instagram handle, captioned, “Teaser dropping BLOODY soon.” As per reports, the film is set to stream on June 9, 2023.
With an ensemble star cast and a renowned director, ‘Bloody Daddy’ is sure to be a treat for action-thriller fans, and its direct-to-OTT release is an indication of the growing importance of the digital medium in the entertainment industry.
