Shiba Inu has become the first layer 2 blockchain to collaborate with the Content Distribution and Security Association (CDSA) to advance blockchain technology for content security and distribution.

Today, SHIB, a collective of digital assets and solutions based on the Ethereum blockchain, including the popular meme coin Shiba Inu, announced its partnership with the Content Distribution and Security Association (CDSA) in a statement to CoinDesk.

The developers of Shiba Inu will propose and develop blockchain technology tailored to the needs of the media and entertainment industry, focusing on security and content distribution.

Established in 1998, CDSA is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to offering best practices for the delivery and storage of entertainment, software, and information technology.

“We are excited to bring a unique blockchain perspective to CDSA’s efforts in assisting media and entertainment executives in leveraging these innovative technologies, especially as blockchain and artificial intelligence intersect,” stated Shytoshi Kusama, lead developer of Shiba Inu.

According to Shiba Inu developers, blockchains could help address concerns surrounding deepfakes and plagiarism in the growing artificial intelligence (AI) sector. They highlighted that many AI models are trained on publicly available content, raising alarms among researchers.

Over the past 24 hours, SHIB tokens have seen a 0.69% increase, trailing behind the broader CoinDesk 20’s 1.7% rise.
