Stormy Daniels Loses Defamation Case and Ordered to Pay Donald Trump’s Legal Fees

Former porn star, Stormy Daniels, has been ordered by the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals in California to pay more than $121,000 to the attorneys of former US President, Donald Trump.

This comes after Daniels lost a defamation case against Trump’s attorneys, adding to the over $500,000 in court-ordered payments she has already been asked to make.

Daniels had filed and lost a defamation suit against Trump, who is currently facing criminal charges related to alleged hush money payments made to Daniels to cover up an alleged affair between the two. Trump denies the affair.

Trump’s attorney, Harmeet Dhillon, shared the order on Twitter, congratulating the former president on his “final attorney fee victory in his favor.”

The civil litigation is separate from Trump’s ongoing legal issues in New York related to the alleged payments, but both cases involve Daniels.

Stormy Daniels sued Trump in 2018 after he called her allegation that an unknown man threatened her to keep quiet about the alleged affair a “total con job.” The lawsuit was dismissed in 2018, with the federal Judge stating that Trump’s statement was protected by the First Amendment.

Following the dismissal, Stormy Daniels was ordered to pay roughly $293,000 in legal fees, with another $245,000 in fees ordered after losing an appeal.

In March 2022, Daniels declared that she would rather go to jail than pay a penny to Trump after a failed defamation suit filed by her former lawyer, Michael Avenatti.

Despite the legal hurdles she has faced, Stormy Daniels remains a prominent figure in the ongoing political drama surrounding Trump and his administration.
