Former Jazz Guard Johnny Juzang Signs With Timberwolves

Johnny Juzang signs with Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves are adding more shooting to their roster. Former Utah Jazz guard Johnny Juzang has agreed to a one-year deal with the Timberwolves, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

Johnny Juzang joins Minnesota ahead of the 2025–26 NBA season after spending three seasons with the Utah Jazz. He originally joined the Jazz as an undrafted free agent out of UCLA in 2022.

The 24-year-old guard was released by Utah earlier this summer as part of the team’s offseason changes. But he didn’t stay a free agent for long. The Timberwolves, looking to strengthen their bench, are now giving Juzang a fresh opportunity.

Career Growth and Shooting Stats

Last season, Johnny Juzang played in 64 games and started in 18 of them. He averaged a career-best 8.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in just under 20 minutes per game.

What really makes Juzang stand out is his ability to shoot from deep. In the 2023–24 season, he shot 41.6% from three-point range on nearly four attempts per game. The following season, he still maintained strong numbers, shooting 37.6% from beyond the arc on nearly five attempts per game.

That level of outside shooting could be exactly what the Timberwolves need. Juzang’s floor spacing may earn him a regular role in the rotation, especially as Minnesota looks to stay competitive in a tough Western Conference.

Another Ex-Jazz Player Joins Minnesota

Johnny Juzang isn’t the first former Jazz player to land in Minnesota. He now joins a Timberwolves roster that includes other ex-Utah standouts like Rudy Gobert, Mike Conley, and Joe Ingles. That growing Jazz connection might help with team chemistry.

As the Timberwolves chase another deep playoff run, adding a young, sharpshooting wing like Juzang could prove to be a smart move.
