Julian McMahon, the Australian actor best known for his roles in Nip/Tuck, Fantastic Four, and FBI: Most Wanted, has died. He passed away peacefully on July 2 in Clearwater, Florida, after privately fighting cancer. He was 56 years old.
His wife, Kelly McMahon, shared the sad news in a statement. She said, “Julian loved life, his family, friends, work, and fans. His greatest wish was to bring happiness to as many people as possible. We ask for privacy as we grieve his loss.”
Born in Sydney on July 27, 1968, Julian McMahon came from a prominent family. His father, Billy McMahon, was Australia’s Prime Minister from 1971 to 1972. Julian began his career as a model before moving into acting. He first appeared on Australian soap operas like The Power, the Passion and Home and Away.
After moving to the U.S., Julian continued acting in daytime dramas, including Another World. He later moved to primetime TV, starring in NBC’s crime drama Profiler. However, it was his role as Cole Turner on Charmed that gained him wide attention. Alyssa Milano, his co-star, called him a true friend and praised his kindness and humor.
