Netflix’s “Extraction 2” trailer has left fans of the first film excited for more of the high-octane, adrenaline-pumping action that they have come to expect from this franchise. Chris Hemsworth is back as Tyler Rake, the black ops mercenary who was presumed dead at the end of the first film, but is revealed to be alive and well in this sequel.
The action-packed trailer shows Rake using a riot shield to defend against a molotov cocktail, and then proceeding to beat down his enemies with his burning fist. The returning director Sam Hargrave, along with producers Anthony and Joe Russo, who worked with Hemsworth on “Avengers: Endgame,” promise even more heart-pounding action and thrills in this second installment.
Golshifteh Farahani and Adam Bessa will reprise their roles as Nik and Yaz Khan respectively, alongside newcomers Daniel Bernhardt and Tinatin Dalakishvili. This talented cast is sure to deliver another outstanding performance in “Extraction 2.”
The first film was a huge success, breaking records and becoming Netflix’s most-watched original film premiere ever, with 99 million households streaming it in the first four weeks of its release. It was also the most-streamed title during its debut weekend and later re-entered the Top 10 releases during the Fourth of July weekend. It ended up being the fourth most-watched streaming film of 2020.
