Kyle Whittingham will not coach Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl against Nebraska as he prepares to take over as Michigan’s next head coach. According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Whittingham is shifting his full focus to Michigan immediately, ending his 21-year run with the Utes, where he won three conference titles, led a perfect 13-0 season in 2008, and earned 11 bowl victories.

Utah defensive coordinator Morgan Scalley will serve as interim head coach for the bowl game. Meanwhile, Kyle Whittingham is already working with Michigan as the program looks for stability following recent coaching turmoil and roster uncertainty.
