Ray Stevens Suffers Heart Attack—Cancels All 2025 Shows

Country music legend and comedy icon Ray Stevens is on the road to recovery after suffering a mild heart attack in Nashville.

The 86-year-old entertainer was admitted to a local hospital last Friday after experiencing chest pains. Doctors performed a catheterization procedure and confirmed that Stevens had indeed suffered a heart attack. Fortunately, it was mild.

On Tuesday morning, he underwent minimally invasive heart surgery, which was reported as successful. By Wednesday afternoon, Stevens had been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He has already taken steps around the hospital with help from a nurse.

In light of his health, Stevens has canceled all performances at his CabaRay Showroom in Bellevue, Tennessee, through July 2025. Fans holding tickets are encouraged to stay tuned for updates or rescheduling information.

Ray Stevens is best known for his comedy classic “The Streak” and the Grammy-winning ballad “Everything Is Beautiful” from 1971. In 2019, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, honoring his decades-long influence on country and comedy music.
