Charley Hull, ranked 11th in the world, wants to see the Women’s British Open return to Donald Trump’s Turnberry course in Scotland.

Turnberry, a beautiful course by the Ayrshire coastline, has hosted the Women’s British Open twice, the last time being in 2015. However, after the U.S. Capitol incident in January 2021, the R&A decided not to hold championships there for the time being.

Speaking at Dundonald Links ahead of this week’s Scottish Open, Charley Hull shared her thoughts. She played at Turnberry earlier this week and was asked if she thought the Women’s British Open should be held there again. “A hundred percent,” Hull responded. She praised the course as “a really top track” and one of the best in the world.

Charley Hull, a six-time Solheim Cup player and two-time LPGA Tour winner, believes that even if Turnberry doesn’t get to host the Women’s British Open, it should still have a place in the women’s golf schedule. She expressed how it would be a shame for such a top course not to be included.

This year’s Women’s British Open will be held next week at St Andrews in Scotland. In 2025, the event will take place at Royal Porthcawl in Wales, and in 2026, it will be hosted by Royal Lytham & St Annes in Lancashire, England.
