AC Milan’s new manager, Paulo Fonseca, is pleased with the club’s recent signings ahead of the new season but has hinted that some players will be leaving the Serie A giants. The Rossoneri kick off their campaign at home against Torino this Saturday.
The Portuguese coach shared his thoughts on the club’s transfer activities, revealing that the signing of French midfielder Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco is almost finalized. However, Paulo Fonseca made it clear that no further additions are expected after Fofana’s arrival.
“We are nearly done with our signings. After Fofana joins, our focus will shift to outgoings,” Paulo Fonseca told reporters on Friday. “We have too many players right now. It’s not easy to manage a large squad.”
AC Milan has already strengthened their squad by bringing in striker Alvaro Morata and defenders Emerson Royal and Strahinja Pavlovic. Paulo Fonseca is optimistic about the upcoming season but remains realistic about the competition.
“We aim to be at the top, but we know it’s a tough battle,” Fonseca admitted. “Inter are the reigning champions, while Juventus, Napoli, and Atalanta are also strong contenders. We want to be in the fight for the Scudetto, but it won’t be easy.”
Despite being in charge for only two months, Paulo Fonseca is happy with the progress his team has made. He believes the players are quickly adapting to his methods.
“I joined Milan at the right time,” Fonseca said. “The atmosphere has been positive from day one, and we’ve made more progress than I expected.”
Looking ahead to their first match, Fonseca is eager to see his team in action. “We know it will be a more challenging game than our pre-season matches. But we’re ready to show our identity from the start,” he concluded.
As the season opener approaches, AC Milan fans will be eager to see how these new signings and Fonseca’s leadership will shape their quest for glory.
