Fulham has welcomed back Danish center-back Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace, signing him to a contract that runs until the summer of 2029, with an option to extend for an additional year. The West London club announced the move on Friday, sparking excitement among fans.

Although the financial details were not officially disclosed, reports from British media suggest that the deal is valued at around $39.56 million. Joachim Andersen, 28, is an experienced player with 36 caps for Denmark. He initially joined Crystal Palace in 2021 from French club Olympique Lyonnais, where he made 113 appearances across all competitions.

Joachim Andersen is no stranger to Fulham, having spent the 2020-21 season on loan with the club. During his previous stint, he wore the number five shirt—a number he will proudly wear again.

“It feels great to be back,” Joachim Andersen shared in an interview with FFCtv. “It’s a bit like coming home. I’m familiar with the club, the playing style, and many of the players and staff. I didn’t need much convincing because I already knew so much about Fulham.”

The Danish defender also discussed his decision-making process. “I had good conversations with the manager. I understand the style he wants to play. It was important to make this decision with my wife and family, and I believe this is the right step for my career.”

Fulham, who finished 13th in the Premier League last season, are set to face newly-promoted Leicester City at home on Saturday. They’ll be looking to bounce back after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Manchester United in their season opener.

This transfer not only strengthens Fulham’s defense but also brings a familiar face back to Craven Cottage, making it an exciting time for the club and its supporters.
