The Houston Texans claimed a commanding 28-10 victory over the New York Giants on Saturday afternoon, driven by a relentless defense and solid rushing performance.
British Brooks led the charge for the Texans, scoring two touchdowns in the fourth quarter with runs of 6 and 15 yards. Meanwhile, C.J. Stroud, the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, made a brief appearance. Stroud completed 7 of his 10 pass attempts, accumulating 88 yards.
Houston’s defense was the star of the show, forcing five turnovers. The Texans recovered three fumbles and intercepted Giants quarterback Daniel Jones twice. Jones, struggling to find rhythm, managed to complete 11 of 18 passes for 138 yards.
Devin Singletary contributed to the Texans’ early lead with a 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Despite this, New York (1-1) failed to score another touchdown for the rest of the game.
The Texans, now 2-1 in the preseason, showcased their defensive prowess, proving they are a force to be reckoned with as the regular season approaches.
