In an electrifying overtime showdown on Sunday, Demarcus Robinson’s one-handed 39-yard touchdown grab clinched a 26-20 victory for the Los Angeles Rams over the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.
The dramatic catch with 4:57 left in overtime marked the Rams’ third consecutive win, bringing them to an even 4-4 on the season and delivering a crushing blow to the Seahawks, now 4-5.
Seattle had first possession in overtime and came within a yard of extending the game, but the Rams’ defense held firm. Kenneth Walker III, who led all rushers with 83 yards, was stopped on a critical fourth-and-1 at the Los Angeles 16-yard line. The Rams seized the opportunity, marching down the field in just four plays before Robinson’s spectacular grab sealed the game.
Rookie safety Kamren Kinchens proved to be a game-changer for the Rams. He intercepted two passes in the fourth quarter, one of which he returned 103 yards to break a tense 13-13 tie. The clutch defensive play shifted momentum toward Los Angeles before a late Seattle comeback forced the overtime period.
Seattle’s quarterback, Geno Smith, kept the Seahawks alive with a last-minute surge, connecting with rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 14-yard touchdown that tied the game at 20-20 with just 51 seconds left in regulation. Smith-Njigba shined throughout, amassing a career-high 180 yards on seven receptions and scoring twice, showing his potential as a rising star in the Seahawks’ offense.
Rams’ quarterback Matthew Stafford showed his veteran poise, completing 25 of 44 passes for 298 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. His favorite target, Cooper Kupp, pulled in 11 receptions for 104 yards, consistently stretching the field and moving the chains.
On the other side, Smith put up a gritty performance, finishing 21-of-34 for 363 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. However, the Rams’ defense kept him under pressure, sacking him seven times in a relentless pass rush.
As the Rams continue to build momentum with this third straight win, their resilience and playmaking ability could propel them further in a tightly contested NFC race.
