Rays Bounce Back from Blown Lead for Dramatic 12-Inning Win

The Tampa Bay Rays secured a thrilling 8-7 victory in 12 innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday in St. Petersburg, Florida. Despite squandering a six-run lead, the Rays pulled through in extra innings to sweep the three-game series.

Dylan Carlson played the hero in the 12th inning, delivering a game-winning RBI single that brought Alex Jackson home. This marked Justin Martinez’s (5-4) second loss in the series. Edwin Uceta (1-0) claimed his first career win by keeping the Diamondbacks scoreless in the final inning.

Brandon Lowe shined with two hits, including a powerful two-run homer. Christopher Morel stepped up after Yandy Diaz left the game with a left forearm injury, going 2-for-4 with a double, two runs, and a walk. Jose Caballero also contributed, adding a two-run double, scoring a run, and stealing three bases, pushing his American League-leading total to 35.

On the other side, Arizona’s Corbin Carroll had two hits, featuring a two-run homer. Adrian Del Castillo tied the game in the ninth with a clutch three-run homer, pushing the contest into extra innings. However, the Diamondbacks faced a setback when their All-Star second baseman Ketel Marte aggravated his left ankle injury while pinch-hitting in the ninth.
