Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has signed a monumental four-year contract extension worth $136 million, according to multiple sources.
This new deal, confirmed on Monday, includes a record-setting $38 million signing bonus, marking the highest ever for a wide receiver. NFL Network reports that $100 million of the contract is guaranteed.
This deal places CeeDee Lamb among the top earners in the NFL, with an average annual salary of $34 million, second only to Minnesota Vikings’ star Justin Jefferson among non-quarterback players, as per Spotrac.
The 25-year-old CeeDee Lamb had a stellar 2023 season, earning All-Pro first-team honors. He set franchise records with 135 receptions, 1,749 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns. Lamb, a three-time Pro Bowler, had skipped Cowboys training camp while negotiating this new contract. Without the extension, he would have played under a $17.99 million fifth-year option this season.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys are also working on new contracts for key players like star pass rusher Micah Parsons and quarterback Dak Prescott. The team has expressed its commitment to finalizing these deals soon.
Drafted 17th overall in 2020, CeeDee Lamb has quickly become one of the NFL’s elite receivers. In his 66 games (61 starts) with the Cowboys, he has recorded 395 receptions, 5,145 yards, and 32 touchdowns.
