Friday night’s preseason clash between the San Francisco 49ers and the Las Vegas Raiders ended with a jaw-dropping moment that you have to see to believe. With just three seconds left on the clock, the 49ers weren’t ready to call it a night.
What followed was a 40-second spectacle of pure chaos and excitement. The 49ers threw everything they had at the clock, desperately trying to push the ball down the field and break the tie. Though they didn’t manage to score, the dramatic play was something to behold.
The thrilling sequence started with a Hail Mary pass from Tanner Mordecai, the fourth-string quarterback. His throw landed around the 10-yard line, where the ball changed hands multiple times in an incredible display of athleticism and luck.
Mordecai eventually found himself with the ball again, this time near the 30-yard line. Unfortunately, his forward pass meant the play wouldn’t have counted even if they had managed to score. Still, the 49ers’ close call was a testament to their determination and skill.
The 49ers will kick off their regular season against Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets on Monday, September 9, at 8:15 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, the Raiders will face the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, September 8, at 4:05 p.m. ET.
